Days End
The light it grows dim now
Off a ruddy dull roar
Of a day been, a night coming
And until then it sears
The wind is dropping and
The air is chill and a
Bird is darting about after bugs.
The warmth still linger in the
Glow on my arm, the hum
Of nightfall, the press of
The night. And the rooves
They sink deeper now, into
The oncoming night, and
They sign and become
Heavy and still.
It is ending my, my dear,
It is ending this day, for
Another to appear
Bright and spirited and
Flushed with life.
Her crimson clouds bursting and
Her dancing eyes sparkling
Her laughter come wash on your shore.
It is as it is
And shall be
For thee
My love,
And it is no more.
For the wan light is breaking
And the moon she is making
Another truth
And this is no more.
