Let it unfurl
A life squeezed out this,
Translucent, whispering on the breeze
Spiralling about in whims and eddies
Drifting, shyly aimless, toe
Dragging across the dust in great
Circles, loops, wavering arcs.
Let it unfurl. Let the light
Through to shine bright and illume
The great chart of events that
Crease their way through, these
Veined tributaries and lagoons that
Course across and weep down.
Gossamer thing, you watch the
Wind. Let it pull you forward and
Skyward. To the heavens and skeeting
Across the plains. A blazing trail
Streaking over water, ballooning high
Across the mountains.
Caught by forces far greater than yourself
Far greater and wilder and sensual and true
Let it unfurl, your beaten out old soul,
And let it swing you wide into the not yet real
