Ripple
Sitting at the edge of the cliff
Feet dangling, hair flicking on
The breeze, I saw
A ripple
Moving fast across the land
Creasing the air, the sky
Imperceptible.
A piece of time falling away
As a fault-line folds underneath
Yawning, briefly, then closing
With a
Snap.
A ripple that moved across the
Land, its passing unremarkable
Its effect profound, for
The world is different now.
A moment passed across the land below
It shifted things, it moved
Everything. And in a glance,
A hair tousled glance,
Something new swept in.
