If we dared
The warm wind blows on the
End of a dusky day, sky
Framed red on the horizon.
My mind starts roaming to the
Places its wont to go, with
Spirit held up and enlivened.
I am of this place and in this
Place, within and far above it,
Timeless in this every dying body.
The world that I am part of, I
Create and keep on making, the
Perfect image of that which I conceive.
It could be different if I wanted,
Yet what should change is neither simple
Nor complex in my calling.
For this fate, if you will, is
Born of many tiny moments we
Decide and thus reflect our will.
Our will and our belief set,
Constraints and the knowledge that
We could be gods, it we dared.
If we dared.
If we dared we'd be free
Yet we don't, because we fear it
The freedom, grandeur and the glory.
This world it slips and slivers
Before me as I grow, and I
Realise what reality really is.
What I need is what's coming,
With a dash of what I'd like,
That's the complex in the simple
Of this life.
For as I want things, I'm to
Grow too, and the growth is more
Important than the easy pathways
Out I might desire.
As so I give myself over to a
Will far beyond me, and within me,
And full able to shape this world.
I surrender and will grasp with
Two hands that which comes before me
And I'll dare to live like this
Lifetime really matters.
