Canoe on the river

If this is true, that
The river is whole from
Source to sea and
All along her length
Complete, every
Sinuous, burbling stillset
Moment entire and
Existing at once and always.

Then who am I to
Bemoan this moment
Over that, this experience
Over the other, this time
Imperfect in a mind
That is always complete
Forever existent
Present, past and future
All here all now
And the only thing separate
Is this little canoe
Tossed upon the waters
Frail and bewildered as
It confuses the fragile canoe
For the immensity of the
Mighty eternal river.
