Tired
I am tired, now, a warrior
Waging war in a distant
Land, far from soils that speak
Waters, trees, rock
Mountain peaks.
I am tired, now, a soldier
Fighting the fight
Swarming from place to
Fecund place leaving
Thin gruel, country tamed
Before the maw.
I have battled in battles
Not mine, against enemies
I harbour no enmity
And I am tired.
I want to go home.
Home to my family,
Human and non-human,
And set down the roots
That rebuild the soils,
The blasted lives, for a
World worth living.
