Would it, could it
Would you be
Surprised to see a
Tree fall in the forest
Not fallen but fast
Falling as you observe.
Would it seem as if
A world had to end and
Yet another not yet born
Could never rise in a
World of such savagery.
Could it be we see
What is with much more
Grace than what becomes
Before our eyes in our
Amazèd changes.
Or do we simply glimpse
Then look away, neither see
Nor even sense it, all
The changes wrought
Upon the world,
Upon ourselves.
