Old growth human being
Old growth human being
You are your tendrils
Draped from canopy
High bird call snake
Slide branch rustle
Wisdom
Strength
Compassion for all who
Come within protector
Of souls gentle hands
Hold young chick
Crying and big bellied
Yawp across treetops
Still
Hushed
Night-time bustle
Thumps and hidden splash
Curiosity entangled in
Webs stretched from
Tree to tree and
Beneath the earth
As fungi chatter
In silence
Peace
Again that wonder at
Memories grown into
Scarred tree trunks
Stone embedded roots
Strange pit and gully
From tears once flooded
Soar
Above
Feel the cool of
Cloud flecked sky upon
Wings rippling beside
In great gyres of
Seeking that which
Wanders
Within.
